High-chlorinated polyethylene

HCPE is a deeply chlorinated polyethylene resin, a thermoplastic polymer; it is high in chlorine, highly flame-retardant, and strongly corrosion-resistant, primarily used in anti-corrosion coatings, adhesives, and inks. It is not a PVC modifier.

Appearance: White/pale yellow powder (pure resin, without additives)

• Chlorine content: 60%–70% (significantly higher than the 25%–40% of ordinary CPE)

II. Key Differences from CPE

• CPE (Chlorinated Polyethylene): Chlorine content 25%–40%, good elasticity, mainly used as a PVC impact modifier and rubber modifier.

• HCPE (Highly Chlorinated Polyethylene): Chlorine content 60%–70%, hard and brittle, highly flame-retardant, and strongly corrosion-resistant, mainly used as a film-forming resin in anti-corrosion coatings, adhesives, and inks.

III. Core Properties

• ✅ High Flame Retardancy: Oxygen Index > 30, self-extinguishing, reaching UL94 V0 rating.

• ✅ Strong corrosion resistance: Resistant to strong acids, alkalis, salt spray, and organic solvents; specifically designed for heavy-duty corrosion protection.

• ✅ Weather and aging resistance: Saturated structure, resistant to UV and ozone, does not powder even after long-term outdoor use.

• ✅ Easy to dissolve and form a film: Soluble in aromatic/ester solvents, forms a hard and glossy film at room temperature.
