Description
Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) is a new type of synthetic material with many outstanding properties. It is an excellent impact modifier for PVC plastics and also a synthetic rubber with comprehensive performance advantages.
CPE is widely used in cables, electric wires, hoses, adhesive tapes, rubber and plastic products, sealing materials, flame-retardant conveyor belts, waterproof membranes, and other molded products.
In addition, CPE can be blended with polypropylene, high- and low-density polyethylene, ABS, and other plastics to improve their flame resistance, aging resistance, and printability.
From a structural perspective, CPE can be regarded as a random copolymer of ethylene, polyethylene, and 1,2-dichloroethylene, featuring saturated molecular chains and randomly distributed polar chlorine atoms.
Due to its excellent physical and chemical properties, CPE is widely applied in the mechanical and electrical industries, chemical industry, construction materials, and mining industry.
CPE offers better heat resistance, ozone resistance, weather resistance, and aging resistance than most rubbers; better oil resistance than nitrile rubber (NBR) and chloroprene rubber (CR); and better aging resistance than chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSM). In addition, it has excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, salts, and other corrosive substances. It is non-toxic and non-flammable.
