Titanium dioxide

Two main crystal forms:

◦ Rutile (R-type): More stable, weather-resistant, and with stronger hiding power (outdoor use)

◦ Anatase (A-type): Higher whiteness, softer, and moderate weather resistance (indoor use)

1. Strongest hiding power (most crucial)

• Extremely high refractive index; 1 gram can cover approximately 450 cm²

• More than 3 times that of lithopone and 5 times that of zinc barium white

• Low dosage, high whiteness, and high opacity

2. Top-tier whiteness & brightness

• Pure whiteness and strong tinting strength

• Finished product is bright, clean, and does not turn gray or yellow

3. Extremely chemically stable (weather resistance king)

• Resistant to light, heat, acids, alkalis, ozone, and salt spray

• Does not fade, chalk, or yellow outdoors

• Rutile can withstand more than 10 years of outdoor aging

4. UV resistant (anti-aging)

• Strong UV absorption/scattering

• Protects plastics, coatings, and rubber from cracking and extends their lifespan

5. Non-toxic and safe

• Recognized as non-toxic, odorless, and non-irritating

• Can be used in food packaging, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals

6. Good dispersion and easy processing

• Easily mixes with coatings, plastics, and inks

• Does not agglomerate, does not clog screens, and leaves a smooth surface

7. Extremely wide range of applications (all-rounder)

• Coatings (60%), plastics (20%), papermaking, inks, synthetic fibers, rubber, cosmetics, ceramics
